Red Lights
Red Lights is a discrete opening due to the fact that not much at al is given away, however the elements of Sci-fi near the end ma give away or create stereotypical plot ideas to it's audience from the beginning.

Splice
I think Splice is a discrete opening also as it does not give away much of the movie.
It has an ident of 'Warner Bros' followed by the names of the actors and directors throughout the opening.
Nothing is given away regarding location in both movies apart from a laboratory or some sort of controlled environment. This is because they both have aspects of advanced technology (scans of a skull) and in Red Lights the word 'UFO' is shown bold and clear which automatically is associated with Sci-fi.

Splice
I think both movies are stylized as they do contain
heavy editing such as the fonts in Red Lights make the film more scientific whereas Splice credits appear as veins on an organ, giving it a rather creepy and for some possibly a gross feeling.
